BILL NO. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.68 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO MISCELLANEOUS ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS, BY REPEALING SECTION 2.68.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO FEES FOR USE OF CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2.68.020 FEES FOR USE OF CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE BASE FEE FROM THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300) TO THREE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($350) AND THE FEE FOR CERTAIN ADDITIONAL SERVICES FROM FIFTY DOLLARS ($50) TO SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS ($65), AND SO AS TO IMPOSE A FEE OF FIVE DOLLARS AND TWENTY-FIVE CENTS ($5.25) PER MILE FOR EACH TRANSPORT TO A HOSPITAL; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 2.68 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to miscellaneous administrative prov~ sions, is hereby amended by repealing Section 2.68.020 thereof, relating to fees for use of City ambulance service, and enacting in lieu thereofa new section to be known as "Section 2.68.020 Fees for Use of City Ambulance Service," thereby amending said section so as to increase the base fee from three hundred dollars ($300) to three hundred fifty dollars ($350) and the fee for certain additional services from fifty dollars ($50) to sixty five dollars ($65), and so as to impose a fee of five dollars and twenty-five cents ($5.25) per mile for each transport to a hospital; so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: SECTION 2.68.020. FEES FOR USE OF CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE. Any person using the facilities of the City ambulance shall be charged the amount of three hundred fifty dollars ($350) for each such use. In addition to such b. ase fee, there shall be a fee of five dollars and twenty-five cents ($5.25) per mile for each transport to a hospital, and an additional fee of sixty five dollars ($65) shall be charged for any and each of the following services provided: endotracheal intubation, IV administered, suctioning airway, and/or oxygen administered. In the event a University City ambulance responds to a mutual aid reciprocal jurisdiction, the City may charge the same fees that such jurisdiction charges. Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 2.68, Section 2.68.020, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. Any person, firm or corporaion violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1.12, Section
