I bodily injury to or death of any person or persons or for damage to property owned by any persons which may result from the ownership, keeping or r maintenance of such animal. Such insurance policy shall provide that no cancellation of the policy will be made unless ten days'written notice is first given to the director of public works of the city. i 6. Reporting Requirements. All owners, keepers or harborers of pit bull dogs must, within ten days of any of the following incidents, report said information in writing to the director of public works: i a. The removal from the city or death of a pit bull dog; b. The birth of offspring of a pit bull dog; c. The new address of a pit bull dog owner should the owner move from one address within the corporate city limits to another address within the corporate city limits; d. The bodily injury to or death of a person caused by a pit bull dog. 7. Sale or Transfer of Ownership. No person shall sell, barter or in any other 1 way dispose of a pit bull dog to any person within the city;provided that the owner of a pit bull dog may sell or otherwise dispose of a dog or the offspring of such dog to persons who do not reside within the city. t 8. Animals Born of Dogs Registered Hereunder. All offspring born of pit bull dogs within the city must be removed from the city within six weeks of their birth . [ i I 9. Failure to Comply. It is unlawful for the owner, keeper or harborer of a pit bull dog within the city to fail to comply with the limitations, requirements and conditions set forth in this section. Any dog found to be the subject of ` a violation of this section shall be subject to revocation of the license and/or registration of the animal and immediate seizure and impoundment. The I owner shall be required to take necessary action to dispose of such pit bull and the director of public works is further authorized to dispose of such pit bull if necessary action is not taken by the owner. 1 10. Violations and Penalties. Any person violating or permitting the violation of any provision of this section shall, upon conviction in municipal court, be fined a sum not less than four hundred dollars ($400.00) and not more than one thousand dollars ($1000.00). In addition to the fine imposed,the court may sentence the defendant to imprisonment in the city jail or other authorized penal institution for a period not to exceed one year. In addition, r the court shall order the registration of the subject pit bull dog revoked and the dog removed from the city. Should the defendant refuse to remove the dog from the city the municipal court judge shall find the defendant owner t in contempt and order the immediate confiscation and impoundment of the P i 1
