BILn NO.' <br /> <br />AN ORDiNANCE AMENDiNG CHAPTER 2.62 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL <br />CODE, RELATING TO THE POLICE AND FIREFIGHTER'S RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 2.62.010, 2.62.020, 2.62.050, 2.62.060, 2.62.080, 2.62.090, 2.62.100, <br />2.62.110, 2.62.120, 2.62.150, 2.62.160, 2.62.170, 2.62.180 AND 2.62.190 AND ADDiNG NEW <br />SECTIONS 2.62.051, 2.62.151 AND 2.62.152 RELATiNG TO THE CONTRIBUTIONS <br />RECEIVED FROM THE MEMBERS OF THE SYSTEM AND PAYMENT OF RETIREMENT <br />BENEFITS WITH RESPECT THERETO AND TO THE PAYMENT OF DISABILITY <br />BENEFITS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Effective May 1, 2001, Chapter 2.62 of the University City Municipal Code, <br />relating to the police and firefighter's retirement system, is hereby mended as follows: <br /> <br />1. Section 2.62.010 is mended to read as follows: <br /> <br />2.62.010 Plan provided--Purpose--"Employees" defined. <br /> <br />There is provided a plan for the retirement of the cormnissioned salaried members of the police <br />and fire departments of the city (hereinafter referred to in this chapter as "employees") on <br />account of age or disability, and for the payment to their widows, minor children or beneficiaries, <br />as applicable, of the pensions and Investment Accounts as more specifically set forth in this <br />chapter, in pursuance of the constitution of the state and the laws enacted pursuant thereto. (Prior <br />Code section 25-6 (part)) <br /> <br />2. Section 2.62.020(A) is mended to read as follows: <br /> <br />A. As used in this chapter: <br /> <br />"Base salary" means the highest monthly salary according to the salary range, as <br />contained in Section 1, Schedule B of the payroll ordinances then in use for a police <br />officer and fire fighter or paramedic firefighter, plus any salary increase because of twenty <br />(20) years of service. If the amounts for such police officer and firefighter or paramedic <br />firefighter (whichever is the highest salary of the fire group) are not the same, the mean of <br />the two amounts shall be used as the base salary herein. <br /> <br />"Board of trustees" or "board" means and refers to the board of trustees of the police and <br />firemen's retirement fund established pursuant to Chapter 2.50. <br /> <br />124253805 <br /> <br /> <br />
