PM-704.3 Attached garages: Private garages located beneath a dwelling unit shall be <br />separated from the dwelling unit by walls, partitions, floors and ceilings with a fire resistance <br />rating of not less than one (1) hour. Private garages attached to a dwelling shall be <br />completely separated from the dwelling unit, its basement and its attic area by means of one- <br />half (½) inch gypsum board or equivalent applied to the garage side and taped at the joints. <br />Doors separating garages from such dwelling units, basements or attics shall be solid core <br />doors with a minimum thickness of one and three-eights (1 3/8) inches or approved <br />equivalent door. <br /> <br />PM-704.4 Barriers to fire: Fireblocking, draftstopping, fire stopping and thermal barriers <br />required by the building code adopted by the City of University City shall be maintained. <br /> <br /> (SECTION PM-705.0 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS) <br /> <br />PM-705.1 General: All systems, devices and equipment to detect a fire, actuate an alarm, <br />or suppress or control a fire or any combination thereof shall be properly maintained. <br /> <br />PM-705.2 Fire suppression system: Fire suppression systems shall be in proper operating <br />condition at all times. <br /> <br />PM-705.2.1 Valves: Control valves shall be in the fully open position. <br /> <br />PM-705.2.2 Sprinklers: Sprinklers shall be clean and free from corrosion, paint and damage. <br />Stock shall be at least 18 inches (457 mm) below sprinkler deflectors. <br /> <br />PM-705.2.3 Piping: Piping shall be properly supported and shall not support any other loads. <br /> <br />PM-705.3 Standpipe systems: Standpipe systems shall be in proper operating condition at <br />all times. <br /> <br />PM-705.3.1 Valves: Water supply control valves shall be in the fully open position. <br /> <br />PM-705.3.3 Hose: Where provided, the hose shall be properly packed, dry and free fi.om <br />deterioration. <br /> <br />29 <br /> <br /> <br />
