d) <br /> <br />When the city takes bids fi.om independent contractors for demolition of a building, bidders <br />shall deduct any salvage value materials of the building or structure may have, fi.om the cost <br />of demolition in arriving at their bid mount. Should city employees do the demolition, the <br />actual cash value of salvaged materials shall be deducted fi.om the special tax bill for such <br />demolition. In no case will the net cost of demolition be increased in order to effect salvage <br />of materials. <br /> <br />e) <br /> <br />f) <br /> <br />Upon presentation of satisfactory proof that the insured has removed or will remove debris, <br />and repair, rebuild or otherwise make the insured premises safe and secure, the code official <br />shall issue a certificate within thirty (30) days after receipt of such satisfactory proof to <br />permit covered claim payment to the insured without deduction, payable to the city's director <br />of finance as herein provided in this section. It shall be the obligation of the insured or other <br />person making claim to provide the insurance company with such certificate. <br /> <br />No provision of this section shall be construed to make the city a party to any insurance <br />contract. <br /> <br />(SECTION 120.0 EMERGENCY MEASURES) <br /> <br />120.2 Temporary safeguards: Notwithstanding other provisions of this code, whenever in the <br />opinion of the code official, there is actual and immediate danger of collapse or failure of a structure <br />or any part thereof which would endanger life, or there is an actual and immediate danger because <br />a vacant or partially vacant building is unguarded or has any open doors or windows, thereby <br />creating a fire hazard, security hazard or endangerment to life or property, the code official shall <br />require the occupants to vacate the same foffi~with and shall cause the necessary work to be done <br />including the boarding-up of all accessible openings, to render such building or structure or part <br />thereof temporarily safe. <br /> <br />(SECTION 121.0 MEANS OF APPEAL) <br /> <br />121.1 Application for appeal: Any interested person shall have the right to appeal a decision of the <br />code official to the Board of Appeals. An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that the <br />true intent of this code or the rules legally adopted thereunder have been incorrectly interpreted, the <br />provisions of this code do not fully apply, or an equivalent form of construction can be used. <br /> <br />121.1.1 Filing procedures: All appeals shall be filed in writing with the code official within <br />thirty (30) days at~er the decision to be appealed is rendered by the code official. Appeals <br />must be accompanied by a fee in the amount specified in the city's ordinances. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br /> <br />
