BILL NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.68 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO MISCELLANEOUS ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS, BY REPEALING SECTION 2.68.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO FEES FOR USE OF CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2-68.020 FEES FOR USE OF CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE BASE FEE FROM FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS ($400) TO FIVE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS ($535) AND SO AS TO IMPOSE A FEE OF SEVEN DOLLARS ($7.00) PER MILE FOR EACH TRANSPORT TO A HOSPITAL; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. Chapter 2.68 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to miscellaneous administrative provisions, is hereby amended by repealing Section 2.68.020 thereof, relating to fees for use of City Ambulance Service and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 2-68.020 Fees for Use of City Ambulance Service, "thereby amending said section so as to increase the base fee from four hundred dollars ($400) to five hundred and thirty five dollars ($535) and so as to impose a fee of seven dollars ($7.00) per mile for each transport to a hospital; so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: SECTION 2-68.020. FEES FOR USE OF CITY AMBULANCE SERVICE Any person using the facilities of the City ambulance shall be charged the amount of five hundred thirty five dollars ($535) for each such use. In addition to such base fee, there shall be a fee of seven dollars ($7.00) per mile for each transport to a hospital. In the event a City ambulance responds to a mutual aid reciprocal jurisdiction, then the City may charge such fees that such jurisdiction charges. Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 2.68, Section 2.68.020, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter I. 12 Section I. 12.010 of the University City Municipal Code.
