INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER Councilmember Wagner BII J, NO. 8615 ORDINANCE NO. 6386 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RENEWING A NON-EXCLUSIVE CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE WITH CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS ENTERTAINMENT I, LLC PURSUANT TO THE CABLE COMMUNICATIONS REGULATORY CODE. WHEREAS, the City has adopted the Cable Communications Regulatory Code, and WHEREAS, Charter Communications Entertainment I, LLC d/b/a Charter Communications (Charter), has applied for renewal of its non-exclusive cable television franchise pursuant to and in accordance with the City's Cable Communications Regulatory Code, and WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the applicants' performance under its current Franchise Agreement and identified the community's future cable-related needs and interests, and WHEREAS, the City has provided the public with adequate notice of the application, and WHEREAS, a written Franchise Agreement (Exhibit 1 attached hereto) has been prepared by the City and agreed to by the applicants, and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is appropriate to renew applicants' Franchise under the terms and conditions stated in the Franchise Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit 1, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A nonexclusive cable television franchise is hereby renewed in the name of Charter Communications Entertainment I, LLC, providing services as Charter Communications, under the terms and conditions stated in the Franchise Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit 1. Section 2. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to sign and attest the Franchise Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit 1 on behalf of the City.
