BILL NO. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY AMENDING <br />SECTION 34-10 THEREOF RELATING TO <br />DEFINITIONS, SO AS TO ADD DEFINITIONS FOR <br />THE TERMS "ADULT BUSINESS, .... ADULT <br />ENTERTAINMENT," "ADULT MOTION PICTURE <br />THEATER," "ADULT THEATER OR ADULT <br />ENTERTAINMENT CABARET," "ADULT ENTERTAINMENT <br />STUDIO" AND "SEXUALLY ORIENTED MATERIAL", <br />AND BY AMENDING ARTICLE 5 THEREOF, RELATING <br />TO SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS, SO AS TO ADD <br />DIVISION 34-67, ESTABLISHING ADULT BUSINESS <br />REGULATIONS, CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting held at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. on <br />May 22, 2002, the University City Plan Commission recommended an <br />amendment of Section 34-10 of the University City Zon±ng Code by <br />adding definitions of the terms "Adult Business, .... Adult <br />Entertainment, .... Adult Motion Picture Theater, .... Adult Theater <br />or Adult Entertainment Cabaret," "Adult Entertainment Studio" <br />and "Sexually Oriented Material" and further recommended an <br />amendment of Article V by adding Division 34-67 establishing <br />adult business regulations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the <br />City Council in the City Council Chambers at City Hall at 7:30 <br />p.m. on July 1, 2002, was duly published in the St. Louis <br />Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within said City; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the'time and place <br />specified in said notice; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during said public hearing the Planning Department <br />presented its report which reviewed studies documenting the <br />adverse secondary effects of adult businesses and said report <br />and studies, as well as all statements, comments, suggestions <br />and objections have been considered by the City Council; and <br /> <br /> <br />
