benefits as of January 1, 1995. <br /> <br />Effective July 1, 1998, all retirees who retired prior to December 31, 1996, and <br />whose employment terminated after they became eligible for retirement pursuant to <br />this chapter, and their beneficiaries other than children, shall receive a monthly <br />benefits increase of twenty dollars ($20), provided such retirees and beneficiaries <br />were receiving benefits as of July 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Effective July 1, 2000, all retirees who retired prior to December 31, 1999, and <br />whose employment terminated after they became eligible for retirement pursuant to <br />this chapter, and their beneficiaries other than children, shall receive a monthly <br />benefit increase of the greater of five percent (5%) or forty dollars ($40), provided <br />such retirees and beneficiaries were receiving benefits as of July 1, 2000. <br /> <br />Eo <br /> <br />Effective July 1, 2003 all retirees who retired prior to January 1, 2003, and whose <br />employment terminated after they became eligible for retirement pursuant to this <br />chapter, and their beneficiaries other than children, shall receive a monthly benefits <br />increase of twenty dollars ($20), provided such retirees and beneficiaries were <br />receiving benefits as of January 1, 2003. <br /> <br />Section 2.
