BILL NO. ORD$ C NO. U4¢C AN ORDINANCE FIXING DEFERRED COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO CERTAIN EMPLOYEES FROM AND AFTER OCTOBER 8, 2003, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6251. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOUPd, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after October, 8 2003, the following six persons holding the positions of Assistant/Deputy City Manager, Director of Finance and Community Development, Director of Public Works, Director of Planning and Development, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and Director of Human Resources will be paid, by the City, additional deferred compensation in the amount of $38.46 per bi-weekly pay period under Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. Section 2. From and after October 8, 2003, the following six persons holding the positions of Assistant/Deputy City Manager, Director of Finance and Community Development, Director of Public Works, Director of Planning and Development, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and Director of Human Resources, if his or her employment commences on or after October 8, 2003, may elect to have additional deferred compensation in the amount of $76.92 per bi-weekly pay period, in addition to the $38.46 aforementioned in Section 1, under Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. This election shall be in lieu of participating in the Non-Uniformed Employees Retirement System and shall be made no later than the first day of their appointment to work by the City, and is irrevocable. Section 3. Ordinance No. 6251 is hereby repealed, effective October 8, 2003. It is the City Council's intent that the effect of such repeal and this ordinance shall be that no additional deferred compensation shall be paid to the Public Relations Manager, effective October 8, 2003, and the additional deferred compensation of the six persons listed in Section 1 shall continue from and after October 8, 2003, in the same amount provided for in Ordinance No. 6251. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage as provided by law. , . PASSED THIS ~ day of ~ ,2003.
