U4¢C <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING DEFERRED COMPENSATION TO BE <br />PAID TO CERTAIN EMPLOYEES FROM AND AFTER OCTOBER 8, <br />2003, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6251. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOUPd, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. From and after October, 8 2003, the following six persons holding <br />the positions of Assistant/Deputy City Manager, Director of Finance and Community <br />Development, Director of Public Works, Director of Planning and Development, Director <br />of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and Director of Human Resources will be paid, by the <br />City, additional deferred compensation in the amount of $38.46 per bi-weekly pay period <br />under Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. <br /> <br /> Section 2. From and after October 8, 2003, the following six persons holding <br />the positions of Assistant/Deputy City Manager, Director of Finance and Community <br />Development, Director of Public Works, Director of Planning and Development, Director <br />of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and Director of Human Resources, if his or her <br />employment commences on or after October 8, 2003, may elect to have additional <br />deferred compensation in the amount of $76.92 per bi-weekly pay period, in addition to <br />the $38.46 aforementioned in Section 1, under Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. <br />This election shall be in lieu of participating in the Non-Uniformed Employees <br />Retirement System and shall be made no later than the first day of their appointment to <br />work by the City, and is irrevocable. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Ordinance No. 6251 is hereby repealed, effective October 8, 2003. <br />It is the City Council's intent that the effect of such repeal and this ordinance shall be that <br />no additional deferred compensation shall be paid to the Public Relations Manager, <br />effective October 8, 2003, and the additional deferred compensation of the six persons <br />listed in Section 1 shall continue from and after October 8, 2003, in the same amount <br />provided for in Ordinance No. 6251. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
