BILL NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9.24 OF THE <br />UNWERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO WEAPONS, <br />BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br />"SECTION 9.24.090 CONCEALED FIREARMS PROHIBITED IN <br />CITY BUILDINGS-EXCEPTIONS;" CONTAINING A SAVINGS <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 9.24 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to <br />weapons, is hereby amended by enacting therein a new section to be known as "Section <br />9.24.090 Concealed firearms prohibited in City buildings-Exceptions," which shall read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />9.24.090 Concealed firearms prohibited in City buildings-Exceptions. <br /> <br />No person who has a valid concealed carry endorsement issued pursuant <br />to Section 571.094 RSMo or a valid permit or endorsement to carry <br />concealed firearms issued by another state or political subdivision of <br />another state shall carry a concealed firearm in any building or portion of <br />any building owned, leased or controlled by the City. <br /> <br />Any portion of a City building in which the carrying of concealed firearms <br />is prohibited shall be clearly identified by signs posted at the entrance to <br />the restricted area. <br /> <br />This section shall not apply to any building used for public housing by <br />private persons, highways or rest areas, firing ranges, and private <br />dwellings owned, leased or controlled by the City. <br /> <br />This section shall not apply to any person who is listed in subsection B of <br />Section 9.24.030. <br /> <br />Any person violating this section may be denied entrance to the building, <br />ordered to leave the building and if an employee of the City, be subjected <br />to disciplinary measures for violation of the provisions of this section. If <br />such person refuses to leave the premises and a peace officer is <br />summoned, such person may be issued a citation for an amount not to <br />exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) for the first offense. Ifa second <br />citation for a similar violation occurs within a six-month period, such <br />person shall be fined an amount not to exceed two hundred dollars <br />($200.00). If a third citation for a similar'violation is issued within one <br />year of the first citation such person shall be fined an amount not to <br /> <br /> <br />
