BILL NO. ~ 0RDINANC~ N0. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9.24 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO WEAPONS, BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 9.24.110 DISPLAY OF CONCEALED CARRY ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED UPON REQUEST OF PEACE OFFICER;" CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 9.24 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to weapons, is hereby amended by enacting therein a new section to be known as "Section 9.24.110 Display of concealed carry endorsement required upon request of peace officer," which shall read as follows: 9.24.110 of peace officer. Display of concealed carry endorsement required upon request Any person issued a concealed carry endorsement pursuant to Section 571.094 RSMo shall carry the concealed carry endorsement at all times the person is carrying a concealed firearm and shall display the concealed carry endorsement upon the request of any peace officer. If there is a failure to comply with this section by a concealed carry endorsement holder, he or she may be issued a citation for an amount not to exceed thirty-five dollars ($35.00). Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 9.24, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. Any person, finn or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1.12, Section 1.12.010 of the University City Municipal Code. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage as provided by law.
