BILL NO. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 34-53 THEREOF RELATING TO LOT AREA AND <br />WDTH EXCEPTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-53 LOT AREA AND WIDTH <br />EXCEPTIONS," BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ADD AN <br />EXCEPTION FOR THE MINIMUM LOT AREA AND WDTH; CONTAINING <br />A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting held at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. on October 22, 2003, the <br />University City Plan Commission recommended an amendment of Section 34-53 of the <br />University City Zoning Code by adding provisions that provide for an exception to the minimum <br />lot area and width; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of public heatings to be held by the City Council in the City <br />Council Chambers at City Hall ~t 7:30 p.m. on ~)~vO_~~ ~ I _.:.h-O~ _9., , was duly <br />published in the ......~ ~ ~ [(,~-~71_ ~t~. ,a newspaper 6f general circulation within <br />said City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAs, said public hearings were held at the time and place specified in said notice, <br />and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly heard and conSidered by <br />the City Council; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS' <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, <br />relating to zoning is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-53, relating to lot area and width <br />exceptions, and enacting in lieu thereofa new section to be known as "Section 34-53 LOT <br />AREA AND WIDTH EXCEPTIONS," by amending said section so as to add an exception to the <br />minimum lot area and width, as so amended shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Within the "SR" and "LR" districts, a reduction in the minimum lot area and/or lot width <br />for detached single-family dwellings shall be granted by the Zoning Administrator if the <br />lot area and/or width are consistent with the prevailing pattern of the subdivision in <br />which the lot is located.
