BiLL NOi~(~\ 5 0qf3 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6368. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after July 1, 2004, the officials in the position hereinafter set forth may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant City Manager Assistant Fire Chief Construction Inspector (may be classified as building/ plumbing/electric inspector) Deputy Director of Engineering Director of Finance and Community Development Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director of Planning Director of Public Works Public Works Manager Forestry Supervisor Inspector I Inspector II Mayor Project Manager Senior Building Inspector/Plan Reviewer Zoning Administrator 100 170 194 110 91 122 91 194 56 122 170 170 30 122 97 91 Section 2. From and after July 1, 2004, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of thirty-seven and one half cents (37.5¢) per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own private vehicles shall be terminated. Section 4. The officials set forth in Section 1, who are required to operate their own automobiles may, after prior authorization of the City Manager, receive compensation as provided in Section 2 in a monthly amount not to exceed the amount set forth in Article 1.
