AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE FIRE CAPTAINS AND FIREFIGHTERS AS ENUMERATED HEREIN FROM AND AFTER JUNE 30, 2004, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6430. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after June 30, 2004, initially payable July 16, 2004, Fire Captains, Paramedic Fire Captains, Firefighters and Paramedic Firefighters, hereinafter designated, shall receive as compensation for their services such amounts as may be fixed by the City Manager in accordance with the Civil Service Rules and Pay Grade Schedule A, included herein. From and after July 1, 1985, all full-time non-executive, nOn-administrative or non-professional employees shall be subject to the work week or work cycle and regulations relating to overtime work except as noted. A listing of executive, administrative, and professionally designated employees or positions shall be issued by the City Manager. The work cycle of uniformed Fire personnel .below the rank of Battalion Chief shall be 27 days or 216 hours per cycle. Hours worked in excess of these totals, when authorized in advance by the Fire Chief, are customarily paid at the rate of time and one-half(I-I/2) of base pay. Compensatory time may be granted by the Fire Chief with accumulation not to exceed 480 hours. Hours worked, including vacation hours, between 204 and 216 hours, in any one cycle shall be compensated for, in addition to their regular rate, at one-half (V2) of that employee's regular hourly rate.
