<br />Code Official: The building commissioner of the City of University City, or the duly <br />authorized representative of the building commissioner. <br /> <br />Condemn: To adjudge unfit for use or occupancy. <br /> <br />Dwellings: (See Section 201.5) <br /> <br />Dormitory: A space, in a building where group sleeping accommodations are <br />provided in one room, or in a series of closely associated rooms, for persons not <br />members of the same family. <br /> <br />Hotel: Any building, containing six or more guest rooms, intended or designed to <br />be occupied, or which are rented or hired out to be occupied, for sleeping <br />purposes by guests. <br /> <br />One-Family dwelling: A building, exclusively containing one dwelling unit and <br />private garage, carport or storage uses incidental to that dwelling. <br /> <br />Rooming house: A building, arranged or occupied for lodging, with or without <br />meals, for compensation and not occupied as a one-family dwelling or a two- <br />family dwelling. <br /> <br />Two-family dwelling: A building, containing two dwelling units. <br /> <br />Dwelling Unit: A single unit, or any part thereof, providing complete, independent <br />living facilities for one or more persons, including permanent provisions for living, <br />sleeping, eating, cooking and sanitation. <br /> <br />Easement: That portion of land or property reserved for present or future use by a <br />person or agency other than the legal fee owner(s) of the property. The easement shall be <br />permitted to be for use under, on or above a said lot or lots. <br /> <br />Efficiency dwelling unit: A dwelling unit containing only one habitable room, with or <br />without a separate kitchen space. <br /> <br />Exterior Property: The open space on the premises and on adjoining property under the <br />control of owners or operators of such premises. <br /> <br />Extermination: The control and elimination of insects, rats or other pests by eliminating <br />their harborage places; by removing or making inaccessible materials that serve as their <br />food; by poison spraying, fumigating, trapping or by any other approved pest elimination <br />methods. <br /> <br />Family: An individual or married couple and/or the children thereof. <br /> <br />15 <br />
