<br />room width requirements of this chapter; the plumbing facilities and water-heating <br />facilities requirements of Chapter 5; the heating facilities and electrical receptacle <br />requirements of Chapter 6; and the smoke detector and emergency escape requirements <br />of Chapter 7. <br /> <br />404.5.1 Other habitable spaces required: Every dwelling unit other than an efficiency <br />dwelling unit permitted under the provisions of Section 404.7 shall contain a living room, <br />dining room and kitchen with floor areas that comply with the minimum floor area <br />requirements of Table 404.5 based on the total number of occupants in the unit. <br /> <br />404.5.3 Maximum number of occupants: No dwelling unit shall be occupied by more <br />occupants than the total number of occupants permitted to occupy the bedrooms in <br />accordance with the provisions of Section 404.4.1. No part of a required living room, <br />required dining room, kitchen or nonhabitable space shall be counted as bedroom space <br />in determining maximum number of occupants permitted in a dwelling unit; nor shall any <br />other space be counted as bedroom space unless it meets all of the requirements of <br />Section 404.4. <br /> <br />404.6 Single-family occupancy: No dwelling unit shall be occupied by more than a <br />single family plus not more than two (2) other persons, all living together as a single <br />housekeeping unit. <br /> <br />Exception: A bed and breakfast facility or a group home authorized under the <br />provisions of the University City Zoning Code. <br /> <br />404.7 Efficiency units: Efficiency dwelling units shall be permitted provided each such <br />unit includes a food preparation area containing a kitchen sink; includes a separate <br />bathroom containing a water closet, lavatory and bathtub and/or shower; and is occupied <br />by not more than three occupants. <br /> <br />404.7.1 One or two occupants: Every efficiency unit occupied by one or two occupants <br />shall contain a habitable room with a floor area of not less than 220 square feet (20.4 m2) <br /> <br />404.7.2 Three occupants: Every efficiency unit occupied by three occupants shall <br />contain a habitable room with a floor area of not less than 320 square feet (29.7 m2). <br /> <br />404.8 Food Preparation: All spaces to be occupied for food preparation pUfposes shall <br />contain suitable space and equipment to store, prepare and serve foods in a sanitary <br />manner.
