BILL NO. 8~~ ORDINANCE NO. !t,S ~c. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6562; AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after September 1,2005, the officials in the position hereinafter set forth may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant City Manager Construction Inspector (may be classified as building/ plumbing/electric inspector) Deputy Director of Engineering Director of Finance and Community Development Director of Information Technology Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director of Planning Director of Public Works Public Works Manager Forestry Supervisor Inspector I Inspector II Mayor Project Manager Senior Building Inspector/Plan Reviewer Zoning Administrator 129 250 142 117 24 157 117 250 72 157 219 219 39 157 125 117 Section 2. From and after September 1, 2005, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of forty-eight and one half cents (48.5~) per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own private vehicles shall be terminated. Section 4. The officials set forth in Section 1, who are required to operate their own automobiles may, after prior authorization of the City Manager, receive compensation as .:; ~
