<br />BILL NO. <br /> <br />Sg(~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />&587 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE <br />UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO <br />ZONING, BY REPEALING SECTION 34.30.5 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO DENSITY AND DIMENSIONAL <br />REGULATIONS IN THE SINGLE-F AMIL Y RESIDENTIAL <br />DISTRICT, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-30.5 DENSITY <br />AND DIMENSIONAL REGULATIONS," THEREBY <br />AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO REQUIRE CERTAIN <br />LOTS TO CONFORM TO THE PREVAILING PATTERN OF <br />DEVELOPMENT; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting held at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on August 24,2005, the <br />University City Plan Commission examined a proposed amendment of Section 34.30.5 of <br />the University City Zoning Code which would require lots within a subdivision where the <br />prevailing pattern of development has lot areas greater than 6,000 square feet or lot <br />widths greater than 50 feet to conform to the prevailing pattern, and recommended that <br />instead of such amendment additional single-family residential districts be created; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Council in the <br />City Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on September 19, 2005, was duly <br />published in the St. Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within University <br />City, on September 3, 2005; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the time and place specified in said <br />notice, and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly heard and <br />considered by the City Council. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Chapter 34 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to zoning, <br />is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-30.5 thereof, relating to density and <br />dimensional regulations in the single-family residential district, and enacting in lieu <br />thereof a new section to be known as "Section 34.30.5 Density and dimensional <br />regulations,''' thereby amending said section so as to require certain lots to conform to the <br />prevailing pattern of development; so that said section, as so amended, shall read as <br />follows: <br />
