<br />BILL NO. <br /> <br />2g(Jtf <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />(p59D <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.64 OF THE <br />UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE <br />NONUNIFORMED EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 2.64.040 THEREOF, RELATING TO <br />MEMBERSHIP, AND BY REPEALING SECTION 2.64.070 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO CREDITABLE SERVICE; AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br />THEREOF NEW SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2.64.040 <br />MEMBERSHIP" AND "SECTION 2.64.070 CREDITABLE SERVICE"; <br />THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTIONS SO AS TO MAKE THE <br />CITY MANAGER A MEMBER OF THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM AS <br />OF THE FIRST DAY OF HIS OR HER APPOINTMENT TO WORK BY <br />THE CITY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 2.64. of the University City Municipal Code, relating to <br />the nonuniformed employees retirement system, is hereby amended by repealing Section <br />2.64.040 thereof, relating to membership, and by repealing Section 2.64.070 thereof, <br />relating to creditable service; and enacting in lieu thereof new sections to be known as <br />"Section 2.64.040 Membership" and "Section 2.64.070 Creditable service"; thereby <br />amending said sections so as to make the city manager a member of the retirement <br />system as of the first day of his or her appointment to work by the City; so that said <br />sections, as so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />2.64.040 <br /> <br />Membership. <br /> <br />A. All employees of the city, as of the operative date, shall become members on such <br />date. <br /> <br />B. All other employees shall become members on the first day of their appointment <br />to work by the city. <br /> <br />C. Membership ceases on termination of employment by resignation, discharge, <br />death, retirement or for any other reason, or in any event on withdrawal of <br />accumulated contributions. <br /> <br />2.64.070 <br /> <br />Creditable service. <br /> <br />A. The years of creditable service of a member shall be the number of years and <br />completed months of service during which the member received compensation <br />prior to the operative date plus the number of years and completed months of <br />service during which the member received compensation after the operative date <br />from the beginning of his or her employment with the city until his or her <br />
