<br />telecommunications facility at least thirty (30) days in advance of cessation and <br />shall comply with removal procedures as per Subsection 9 below. <br /> <br />s. Additional Standards for Building- and Roof-Mounted Antennas. In addition to <br />all other applicable General Development Standards, telecommunication facilities <br />proposed to be mounted on or attached to an existing or proposed building shall <br />comply with the following: <br />(1) A building-mounted antenna and any ancillary equipment shall be in <br />scale and architecturally integrated with the building design in such a <br />manner as to be visually unobtrusive. Screening may include designs such <br />as locating the facility within attics, steeples, towers, behind and below <br />parapets, or concealed within a new architectural addition to a building or <br />structure which is architecturally compatible with the building; <br /> <br />(2) Roof-mounted equipment and antennas shall be located as far away as <br />feasible from the edge of the building; and, <br /> <br />(3) An antenna mounted on such structures as utility poles, light standards <br />or flagpoles shall be placed on the structure in a manner as to reduce its <br />visual impact, and shall be of a color to blend in with the structure. <br /> <br />3. Desien. <br /> <br />a. Towers shall maintain a galvanized steel finish or, subject to the requirements of <br />the FAA or any applicable state or federal agency, be of a neutral color consistent <br />with the natural or built environment of the site. <br /> <br />b. Equipment shelters or cabinets shall have an exterior finish compatible with the <br />natural or built environment of the site, and may also be brick or other masonry <br />material as recommended by the Plan Commission and approved by the City <br />Council under the proposed conditional use permit. <br /> <br />c. Telecommunications antennas attached to a building or disguised <br />telecommunications antenna support structure shall be of a color identical to or <br />closely compatible with the surface to which they are mounted. <br /> <br />d. Structural Integrity. The applicant shall provide sufficient information in the <br />conditional use permit application to show that the tower or disguised support <br />structure has sufficient structural strength to support itself and the proposed <br />equipment. Such towers or support structures shall also be designed to collapse <br />upon themselves during a failure so as to prevent endangering surrounding uses <br />and property. <br /> <br />4.
