INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Sharpe Jr. DATE: 01109/06 BILL NO. 8841 ORDINANCE NO 6608 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-145 THEREOF, RELATING TO HOURS OF OPERATION; ADJUSTMENT OF METERS TO SHOW LEGAL AND ILLEGAL PARKING; ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF ONE NEW SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-145. HOURS OF OPERATION; ADJUSTMENT OF METERS TO SHOW LEGAL AND ILLEGAL PARKING" BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended section 21-145 "Hours of operation; adjustment of meters to show legal and illegal parking," by amending said section so as to add a designation of Zone F (Delmar Parking Garage). Section 21-145 Hours of operation; adiustment of meters to show legal and illegal parking It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in his name or operated or controlled by him to be upon any street or right of way, public parking lot, or public parking garage within a parking meter zone in any parking space adjacent to where a parking meter is showing a signal indicating that the fee has not been paid, and such space is illegally in use between the hours of 8 :00 am and 7 :00 pm of any day, Sundays and legal holidays excepted, for Zones A through F as provided in section 21-137. Section 2. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended section 21-149 "Violation of division," by amending said section so as to add a designation of Zone F. Section 21-149 Violation of division. Any person parking any vehicle or any person suffering a vehicle owned by him or registered in his name to be parking across the line between two (2) metered parking spaces or to be parked in a metered parking space without depositing in the parking meter the fee required by this division to be paid, shall be punishable by a fine not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each offense. Any vehicle parking in parking meter Zone D and F under a permit issued under this division shall not be subject to the penalty provided herein.
