<br />INTRODUCED BY: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe J r. <br /> <br />DATE: 1/30/06 <br /> <br />BILL NO <br /> <br />8849 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6615 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE UNIVERSITY <br />CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND <br />PARKING GENERALLY, BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO <br />BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.40.240 PARKING ON PRIV A TE LOTS OR <br />STREETS WITHOUT CONSENT;" CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE <br />AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 10.40 of the University City Municipal Code <br />relating to stopping, standing and parking generally, is hereby amended by <br />enacting therein a new section to be known as "Section 10.40.240 Parking on <br />private lots or streets without consent," which shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 10.40.240 Parking on private lots or streets without <br />consent. <br /> <br />It is unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle on a private <br />parking lot or on any private way or street without the consent of <br />the owner of such lot, way, or street or the operator of such lot. <br /> <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or <br />corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 10.40, nor <br />bar the prosecution for any such violation. <br /> <br />Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall upon conviction thereofbe subject to the penalty provided in Chapter <br />1.12, Section 1.12.010 of the University City Municipal Code. <br /> <br />Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage as <br />provided by law. <br />
