<br />INTRODUCED BY: <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert <br /> <br />DATE: 4/17/06 <br /> <br />BILL NO.: 8866 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO.:6630 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING A SECOND CENTURY COMMISSION TO <br />PROVIDE ADVICE ON CITY SERVICES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, <br />AND SETTING FORTH ITS MEMBERSHIP, POWERS AND DUTIES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. There is hereby created a Second Century Commission, which <br />shall consist of twenty (20) members. The Mayor shall appoint two co-chairpersons and <br />six other members, and each Councilmember shall appoint two members. All members <br />shall be residents of University City. <br /> <br />Section 2. The members of the Second Century Commission may elect a <br />secretary and such other officers as they deem necessary. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Second Century Commission may make such rules of <br />procedure as it deems necessary. <br /> <br />Section 4. The Second Century Commission is an advisory body. It shall <br />study and make recommendations on the delivery of City services and University City's <br />approach to commercial and residential development, applying the best practices from <br />elsewhere in the region and the nation. The Commission may hold hearings throughout <br />University City to receive public comment. It shall make reports to the City Council <br />approximately every three months after its first meeting, with the final report due January <br />31, 2007. The term of office of each member shall end upon the submission of the final <br />report. <br /> <br />Section 5.
