Brot DATE: May 22, 2006 BILL NO. 8884 ORDINANCE NO. 6646 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6586. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after June 29, 2006, the officials in the position hereinafter set forth may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required shall receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant to/Assistant City Manager Construction Inspector (may be classified as building/ plumbing/electric inspector) Depllty Director of Engineering Deputy FirelEMS Chief Director of Finance and Community Development Director of Information Technology Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director of Planning Director of Public Relations Director of Public Works Senior Public Works Manager Forestry Supervisor Inspector I Inspector II Mayor Project Manager Senior Building InspectorlPlan Reviewer Zoning Administrator 129 250 142 219 117 24 157 117 75 250 72 157 219 219 39 157 125 117 Section 2. From and after September 1, 2005, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of forty-eight and one half cents (48.5~) per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own
