<br />INTRODUCED BY: <br /> <br />Ms. Brot <br /> <br />DATE: October 23, 2006 <br /> <br />Bill NO. 8913 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6672 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 34-104.2 THEREOF RELATING TO PERMITTED <br />SIGNS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-104.2 PERMITTED SIGNS," BY AMENDING <br />SAID SECTION SO AS TO CREATE A NEW CATEGORY OF <br />TEMPORARY SIGNS; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOllOWS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting held at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on September 27, 2006, <br />the University City Plan Commission recommended an amendment of Section 34-104.2 <br />of the University City Zoning Code by adding provisions that create a category of <br />temporary signs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due notice of public hearings to be held by the City Council in the <br />City Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on October 23, 2006, was duly <br />published in The Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within said City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said public hearings were held at the time and place specified in <br />said notice, and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly <br />heard and considered by the City Council; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, <br />Missouri, relating to zoning is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-104.2, relating <br />to Permitted Signs, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section <br />34-104.2 Permitted Signs," by amending said section so as to create a category called <br />temporary signs, as so amended shall read as follows: <br /> <br />34-104.2 Permitted signs. <br />Except as otherwise limited in this section, the following types of signs are <br />permitted, without a sign permit, in all of the zoning districts of University City: <br />1. Temporary Signs - On-Premise Yard Signs (for example, Real Estate Signs, <br />Construction Signs, Political Signs and other temporary yard signs). <br />Consisting of temporary signs not exceeding ten square feet in gross area for <br />
