<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
<br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RELATING TO ZONING
<br />DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO SECTION 34-22 THEREOF,
<br />AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW OFFICIAL ZONING MAP,
<br />THEREBY AMENDING SAID MAP SO AS TO CHANGE THE
<br />CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTIES AT 8635,8639 (PORTIONS OF), 8645
<br />(PORTIONS OF), 8651, 8655, 8660, 8661, 8665, 8666, 8671,8672 BARBY
<br />LANE AND 8655, 8660 8664, 8665, 8669, 8673 WEST KINGSBURY FROM
<br />"SR" - SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, TO "HRO" - HIGH
<br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL OFFICE DISTRICT; EXCEPTING THAT THE
<br />CLASSIFICATION OF THE PROPERTIES KNOWN AS THE NORTH 67
<br />FEET OF THE LOT AT 8639 BARBY LANE AND THE EAST 30 FEET AND
<br />NORTH 67 FEET OF THE LOT AT 8645 BARBY LANE SHALL BE FROM
<br />"SR" - SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, TO "GC" - GENERAL
<br />COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
<br />PROVIDING A PENALTY.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City
<br />(University City Zoning Code) divides the City into several zoning districts, and regulates
<br />the character of buildings which may be erected in each of said districts, and the uses to
<br />which the buildings and premises located therein may be put; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission examined an amendment of the Official
<br />Zoning Map of the City which proposed to change the classification of property at 8635,
<br />8639 (portions of), 8645 (portions of), 8651, 8655, 8660, 8661, 8665, 8666, 8671 8672,
<br />8678 Barby Lane, and 8655, 8660 8664, 8665, 8668, 8669, 8673 West Kingsbury from
<br />Single Family Residential District ("SR") to High Density Residential Office District ("HRO");
<br />excepting that the classification of the properties known as the north 67 feet of the lot at
<br />8639 Barby Lane and the east 30 feet and north 67 feet of the lot at 8645 Barby Lane shall
<br />be from single family residential district ("SR@) to general commercial district ("GC"); and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission, in a meeting at City Hall on December 27,
<br />2006, approved said amendment (with the exceptions that the lots at 8668 West Kingsbury
<br />and 8678 Barby Lane should remain as is as ASR@ Single Family Residential District) and
<br />recommended to the City Council that it be enacted into an ordinance (as amended); and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Council in the City
<br />Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:30 p.m., February 5,2007, was duly published in the St.
<br />Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within said City on May 7,2007; and

<br />WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the time and place specified in said
