<br />INTRODUCED BY: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />DATE: November 5, 2007 <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8962 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6715 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.10 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 2.10.060 THEREOF, RELATING TO CERTAIN CITY <br />CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES TO BE APPROVED BY COUNCIL, AND <br />ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br />"SECTION 2.1 0.060 CERTAIN CITY CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES TO BE <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL"; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 2.10 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to <br />the Department of Finance, is hereby amended by repealing Section 2.10.060 <br />thereof, relating to certain city contracts and purchases to be approved by council, <br />and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 2.10.060 <br />Certain city contracts and purchases to be approved by council", thereby <br />amending said section so as to increase the amount of expenditure from ten <br />thousand dollars ($10,000) to twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) before <br />council approved is required; so that said section, as amended, shall read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 2.10.060 Certain city contracts and purchases to be approved <br />by council. <br /> <br />All purchases, contracts, or undertakings of any kind involving the <br />expenditure of an amount greater than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) shall <br />be approved by the city council. <br /> <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any <br />person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of <br />Chapter 2.10, Section 2.10.060 of the University City Municipal Code, nor bar the <br />prosecution for any such violation. <br /> <br />Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage as <br />provided by law. <br />
