INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Sharpe, Jr. DATE: November 5, 2007 BILL NO. 8962 ORDINANCE NO. 6715 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.10 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, BY REPEALING SECTION 2.10.060 THEREOF, RELATING TO CERTAIN CITY CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES TO BE APPROVED BY COUNCIL, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2.1 0.060 CERTAIN CITY CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES TO BE APPROVED BY COUNCIL"; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 2.10 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to the Department of Finance, is hereby amended by repealing Section 2.10.060 thereof, relating to certain city contracts and purchases to be approved by council, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 2.10.060 Certain city contracts and purchases to be approved by council", thereby amending said section so as to increase the amount of expenditure from ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) before council approved is required; so that said section, as amended, shall read as follows: Section 2.10.060 Certain city contracts and purchases to be approved by council. All purchases, contracts, or undertakings of any kind involving the expenditure of an amount greater than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) shall be approved by the city council. Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 2.10, Section 2.10.060 of the University City Municipal Code, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage as provided by law.
