INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Sharpe, Jr. DATE March 24, 2008 BILL NO. 8983 ORDINANCE NO. 6735 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.44 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS FOR SPECIFIC STREETS, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.44.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.44.020 PARKING PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON SOUTH-WEST CORNER OF BALSON AND JACKSON, FOR A DISTANCE OF 150 FEET TO THE WEST, FROM 1 A.M. TO 4 P.M. ON SCHOOL DAYS ONLY, EXCEPT FOR A PERIOD OF 15 MINUTES FOR PICK-UP/DROP-OFF PASSENGERS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 10.44 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to parking restrictions on specific streets, is hereby amended by repealing Section 10.44.020 thereof, relating to parking prohibited on certain streets during designated hours, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 10.44.020 Parking prohibited on certain streets during designated hours," thereby amending said section so as To Prohibit Parking On South West Corner Of Balson And Jackson, For A Distance Of 150 Feet To The West, From lam To 4pm On School Days Only, Except For A Period Of 15 Minutes For Pick Up/ Drop Off Passengers; So That Said Section, As So Amended, shall read as follows: 10.44.020 Parking prohibited on certain streets during designated hours. The following streets or parts of streets are designated as places where parking is prohibited during the time set forth in this section within the meaning of the title: Alta Dena Court: On the west side thereof from University Drive to Pershing Avenue between the hours of nine a.m. and eleven a.m. On the east side thereof between the hours of one p.m. and three p.m. except Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Balson Avenue: On the north side thereof from Jackson Avenue to the first high school service drive west of Jackson Avenue between the hours of eight a.m. and four p.m. on every day of the week except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays and election days. On the south west comer of Balson and Jackson, for a distance of 150 feet to the west, from tam to 4pm on School Days only. Except for a period of 15 minutes for pick up/ drop off passengers On both sides thereof from Purdue Avenue to Hanley Road between the hours of three- thirty p.m. and five p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. On both sides thereof from Purdue Avenue to Midland between the hours of one p.m. and four p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. Bartmer Avenue: On the north side thereof on Wednesday only and on the south side
