INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Crow DATE: February 14, 2011 BILL NO.: 9107 ORDINANCE NO.: 6846 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.36 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO REGULATION FOR SPECIFIC STREETS, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.36.040 THEREOF, RELATING TO SCHOOL ZONES DESIGNATED, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.36.040 SCHOOL ZONES DESIGNATED," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO EXTEND THE SCHOOL ZONE ON PERSHING AVENUE FROM THREE HUNDRED (300) FEET EAST OF MIDVALE AVENUE TO BIG BEND BOULEVARD; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 10.36 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to regulations for specific streets, is hereby amended by repealing Section 10.36.040 thereof, relating school zones designated, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 10.36.040 School zones designated," thereby amending said section so as to extend the school zone on Pershing Avenue from three hundred(300) feet east of Midvale Avenue to Big Bend Boulevard, so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: 10.36.040 - School zones designated. The following streets and parts of streets are designated as school zones within the meaning of this title: • Balson Avenue, from Hanley Road to a point two hundred (200) feet east of Purdue Avenue. • Bartmer Avenue, from Ferguson Avenue to a point two hundred (200) feet east of Sadler Avenue. • Blackberry Avenue, from Gay Avenue to Swarthmore Lane. • Canton Avenue, from a point two hundred (200) feet east of Lamb Avenue to a point two hundred (200) feet west of Lamb Avenue. • Clemens Avenue, from Interdrive Avenue to Westgate Avenue. • Delmar Boulevard, from a point two hundred (200) feet east of Midland Boulevard to a point two hundred (200) feet west of Midland Boulevard. • Dorset Avenue, from Jackson Avenue to a point two hundred (200) feet east of Jackson Avenue. • Eighty-First Street, from Groby Road to a point three hundred (300) feet north thereof. • Eighty-second Boulevard, from a point three hundred (300) feet north of Appleton Avenue to a point eight hundred (800) feet north of Appleton Avenue. • Etzel Avenue, from Ferguson Avenue to a point two hundred (200) feet east of Sadler Avenue. • Ferguson Avenue, from Bartmer Avenue to Etzel Avenue. • Forsyth Boulevard, from a point two hundred (200) feet east of Asbury Avenue to a point two hundred (200) feet west of Asbury Avenue. • Forsyth Boulevard, from Big Bend Boulevard to a point four hundred eighty (480) feet west of Big Bend Boulevard. • Groby Road, from Tulane Avenue to Mulberry Lane. • Hanley Road, from Anna Avenue on the east and west portion of Hanley Road to Carleton Avenue on the north and south portions of Hanley Road. • Hanley Road, from Blackberry Avenue to Shaftsbury Avenue. • Jackson Avenue, from Tulane Avenue to Shaftsbury Avenue.
