I <br /> INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Glickert DATE: July 23, 2012 <br /> BILL NO. 9159 ORDINANCE NO. 6892 I <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 10, VEHICLES <br /> AND TRAFFIC, TO REVISE VARIOUS TRAFFIC REGULATIONS AS PROVIDED <br /> HEREIN <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> I <br /> Section 1. Sections 10.36.010, 10.36.050, 10.36.090, and 10.44.020 of Chapter 10, 1 <br /> Vehicles and Traffic, of the University City Municipal Code are amended as provided <br /> herein. Language to be deleted from the Code is represented as ; <br /> language to be added to the Code is emphasized. This Ordinance contemplates no <br /> revisions to the Code other than those so designated; any language or provisions from f, <br /> the Code omitted from this Ordinance is represented by an ellipsis and remains in full <br /> force and effect. <br /> Section 2. Section 10.36.010 of the University City Municipal Code is hereby amended <br /> to correct certain definitions relating to school and playground stops in accordance with <br /> the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices - MUTCD, as follows: <br /> i <br /> 10.36.010 - Definitions. <br /> I <br /> As used in this chapter: <br /> * * * <br /> I <br /> "School and playground stop" means any designated intersection of two ' <br /> or more public highways or a marked pedestrian crossing of a highway or <br /> street, as set forth in Section 10.36.050, at which there shall have been <br /> erected or placed a sign or marker upon which there is centered the word <br /> "School" with the word "stop", the pedestrian symbol and the words "within <br /> crosswalk" thereon. <br /> : <br /> "School stop only" means any designated intersection of two or more <br /> public highways or a marked pedestrian crossing of a highway or street, <br /> as set forth in Section 10.36.060, at which there shall have been erected <br /> or placed a sign or marker upon which there is centered the word <br /> "School" with the word "stop", the pedestrian symbol and the words "within I` <br /> crosswalk" thereon. All vehicles, as defined in Section 10.36.080, shall be F <br /> brought to a stop, commencing September 2nd of each year and <br /> continuing through and including June 20th of the following year, at all <br /> such places. <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
