INTRODUCED BY Mr. Sharpe DATE: September 10, 2012 <br /> BILL NO 9162 ORDINANCE NO 6895 <br /> AN ORDINANCE TO EXTEND THE TEMPORARY OVERLAY ZONING <br /> DISTRICT TITLED AS DIVISION 34-41 "JDO" JOINT DEVELOPMENT <br /> ZONING OVERLAY OF CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, <br /> CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> WHEREAS, the current Division 34-41 "JDO"Joint Development Zoning Overlay is set <br /> to expire on September 23, 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, a draft Intergovernmental Agreement (IA), to be submitted by the Joint <br /> Redevelopment Implementation Committee to the City Councils of University City and Olivette <br /> for consideration, proposes that both Cities adopt as a long-term objective a model joint <br /> development overlay ordinance with their respective zoning codes amended for the <br /> redevelopment area within eight(8) months following the effective date of the IA to allow both <br /> Cities to work collaboratively and jointly towards development and adoption of a long-term <br /> model joint development overlay ordinance as part of the Intergovernmental Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting held at the Heman Park Community Center, 975 Pennsylvania <br /> Avenue, University City, Missouri at 7:00 p.m. on August 22, 2012, the University City Plan <br /> Commission considered the proposed extension and by a unanimous vote motioned to <br /> recommend approval of an eight (8)-month extension of the current Division 34-41 "JDO" Joint <br /> Development Zoning Overlay of Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University <br /> City, relating to zoning, and forward this ordinance to the City Council following a Public <br /> Hearing in accordance with the procedures outlined in Article 14 Amendments of Chapter 34 of <br /> the Municipal Code of the City of University City; and <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of the public hearing to be held by the City Council in the City <br /> Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on September 10, 2012, was duly published in the St. <br /> Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within said City; and <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the time and place specified in said notice, <br /> and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly heard and considered by <br /> the City Council; <br /> Page l of 16 <br /> 6 <br />
