- <br /> INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Glickert DATE: September 23, 2013 <br /> BILL NO 9198 ORDINANCE NO 6930 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8.08 "FIRE CODE" OF TITLE 8 OF THE <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI. <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. is the organization known to be <br /> an industry standard for construction codes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. reviews, proposes, develops <br /> and publishes model codes for adoption by municipalities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition as published by the <br /> International Code Council, Inc. is the most widely adopted and utilized fire code for <br /> state and local governments; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rates municipalities <br /> based on how current the municipality is with the latest model codes and, thus, a better <br /> rating can decrease insurance premiums paid by the citizens of the municipality; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City (the "City") desires to amend Chapter 8.08 <br /> "Fire Code" of Title 8 of the Municipal Code in compliance with the requirements of the <br /> International Code Council, Inc. in order to attain a higher rating with the ISO and <br /> decreased insurance premiums for citizens of the City. <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
