INTRODUCED BY Mr. Crow DATE: September 23, 2013 <br /> BILL NO 9207 ORDINANCE NO 6939 <br /> AN ORDINANCE CREATING CHAPTER 15.09 OF TITLE 15 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI ENACTING THE <br /> "SWIMMING POOL AND SPA CODE". <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. is the organization known to be <br /> an industry standard for codes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. reviews, proposes, develops <br /> and publishes model codes for adoption by municipalities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, 2012 Edition as <br /> published by the International Code Council, Inc. was developed to become the <br /> standard for state and local governments; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rates municipalities <br /> based on how current the municipality is with the latest model International Council <br /> Codes and, thus, a better rating can decrease insurance premiums paid by the citizens <br /> of the municipality; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City (the "City") desires to enact Chapter 15.09 <br /> "Swimming Pool and Spa Code" of Title 15 of the Municipal Code in compliance with the <br /> requirements of the International Code Council, Inc. in order to attain a higher rating <br /> with the ISO and decreased insurance premiums for citizens of the City. <br /> } <br /> 1 <br />
