INTRODUCED BY Ms. Carr DATE: September 23, 2013 <br /> BILL NO 9208 ORDINANCE NO 6940 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15.07 "PLUMBING CODE" OF TITLE 15 OF <br /> THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI. <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. is the organization known to be <br /> an industry standard for construction codes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. reviews, proposes, develops <br /> and publishes model codes for adoption by municipalities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Plumbing Code, 2012 Edition as published by the <br /> International Code Council, Inc. is the most widely adopted and utilized plumbing code <br /> for state and local governments; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rates municipalities <br /> based on how current the municipality is with the latest model codes and thus, a better <br /> rating can decrease insurance premiums paid by the citizens of the municipality; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City (the "City") desires to amend Chapter <br /> 15.07 "Plumbing Code" of Title 15 of the Municipal Code in compliance with the <br /> requirements of the International Code Council, Inc. in order to attain a higher rating <br /> with the ISO and decreased insurance premiums for citizens of the City. <br /> 4 <br />
