INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Sharpe DATE February 10, 2014 BILL NO. 9223 ORDINANCE NO. 6953 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A SECTION OF CHAPTER 10, VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, TO REVISE TRAFFIC REGULATION AS PROVIDED HEREIN BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 10.44.020 of Chapter 10, Vehicles and Traffic, of the University City Municipal Code is amended as provided herein. Language to be added to the Code is emphasized. This Ordinance contemplates no revisions to the Code other than those so designated; any language or provisions from the Code omitted from this Ordinance is represented by an ellipsis and remains in full force and effect. Section 2. Section 10.44.020 of the University City Municipal Code is hereby amended to create a bus loading zone - parking restriction on the west side of Jackson Ave from Shaftesbury Ave to Balson Ave, from 6am to 8am and from 1pm to 3pm, Monday — Friday., as follows: 10.44.020 - Parking prohibited on certain streets during designated hours. The following streets or parts of streets are designated as places where parking is prohibited during the time set forth in this section within the meaning of the title: Jackson Avenue: On both sides thereof from Shaftesbury Avenue to Amherst Avenue between the hours of three-thirty p.m. and five p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. On the west side thereof from Shaftesbury Avenue to Balson Avenue, between the hours 6am to 8am and from 1pm to 3pm, Monday — Friday, allowing parking for school buses only. * * * Section 3. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of the sections revised by this amendment nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1.12, section 1.12.010 of the University City Municipal Code.
