INTRODUCED BY Ms. Carr DATE: February 10, 2014 BILL NO 9224 ORDINANCE NO 6954 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A SECTION OF CHAPTER 10, VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, TO REVISE TRAFFIC REGULATION AS PROVIDED HEREIN BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 10.44.020 of Chapter 10, Vehicles and Traffic, of the University City Municipal Code is amended as provided herein. Language to be added to the Code is emphasized. This Ordinance contemplates no revisions to the Code other than those so designated; any language or provisions from the Code omitted from this Ordinance is represented by an ellipsis and remains in full force and effect. Section 2. Section 10.44.020 of the University City Municipal Code is hereby amended to create a parking restriction with a passenger zone on the outside lane of the Balson Circle west of Jackson Ave, as follows: 10.44.020 - Parking prohibited on certain streets during designated hours. The following streets or parts of streets are designated as places where parking is prohibited during the time set forth in this section within the meaning of the title: Balson Avenue: On the north side thereof from Jackson Avenue to the first high school service drive west of Jackson Avenue between the hours of eight a.m. and four p.m. on every day of the week except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays and election days. On the north side of the north-west quadrant of the Balson circle thereof from the marked crosswalk on Jackson Avenue to the marked crosswalk on Balson Ave, west of the Balson Circle, from seven a.m. to four p.m., allowing parking for fifteen (15) minutes for a passenger zone, Monday through Friday. On the south side, from the southwest corner of Balson and Jackson, for a distance of one hundred fifty (150) feet to the west, from seven a.m. to four p.m., allowing parking for fifteen (15) minutes for a passenger zone, Monday through Friday. On the south side of the south-west quadrant of the Balson circle thereof from Jackson Avenue to the marked crosswalk on Balson Ave, west of the Balson Circle, from seven a.m. to four p.m., allowing parking for fifteen (15) minutes for a passenger zone, Monday through Friday. Section 3. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of the sections revised by this amendment nor bar the prosecution for any such violation.
