<br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />September 28, 2004 <br />Heman Park Community Center <br /> <br />Vice President Palmer called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m. Others present were: <br /> <br />Mary Hart Frank Ollendorff, City Manager <br />Les Palmer Tracy Collins, Administrative Secretary <br />James Sutton Ron Akin, City Golf Professional <br />Charles Mosley <br />Carl Seltzer <br />Doyle Mitchell <br />Ted Smorodin <br />Francine Brungardt, Council Member <br /> <br />Excused: Nancy MacCartney <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from July, 2004 <br />Mr. Smorodin motion to accept minutes with the notation of Mr. Mosley disapproval of <br />senior use of Community Center with exclusive use of kitchen, Mr. Sutton seconded. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda <br />Mr. Schenk reported that City Council approved the use of the Heman Park Pool for a <br />Puppy Pool Party scheduled for September 11, 2004. <br /> <br />Ms. Glickert discussed some concerns she had with outsourcing the management of <br />the Heman Park Pool, such concerns as: uniforms, salaries, certification and the <br />maintenance of the pool. <br /> <br />Ms. Rossel discussed her concerns with the equipment use to maintain the pool. She <br />also discussed the toys and the maintenance of the toys. Ms. Thompson assured her <br />that the problems with the equipment are being taken care of. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Ruth Park Golf Course Master Plan <br />Mr. Ron Akin, Ruth Park Golf Professional gave a presentation on the Ruth Park Golf <br />Course Master Plan. He gave a brief history of rounds played, a description of the items <br />that were studied, and such items as Golf Professional 5 year contract, improvements to <br />clubhouse, cart paths and drainage for River Des Peres. He also talks about the <br />maintenance of the grounds. He discussed the benefit of having a teaching facility <br />and the radius between the existing facilities. He showed four different maps of <br />possible changes and how they would affect the current course, he gave a cost <br />analysis and payback options for each design. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br />?Vice President Palmer reported he was glad to see the benches and tables at <br /> <br /> <br />
