<br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />June 27, 2006 <br />Centennial Commons <br /> <br />President James Sutton called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Others present were: <br /> <br />Mary Hart, Vice President Arthur Sharpe Jr., Council Liaison <br />Jerry Fitch Nancy MacCartney, Director of Parks <br />Livingstone Sykes Tracy Collins, Administrative Secretary <br />Doyle Mitchell <br />Carl Seltzer <br />Ted Smorodin <br />Charles Mosley <br /> <br /> <br />Excused: Evelyn Irving <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from May 23, 2006 <br />Vice President Hart motioned to approve minutes. Mr. Mitchell seconded; motion <br />passed unanimously <br /> <br />Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda <br />None <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Mr. Sharpe reported: Council Member Brungardt of the 2 Ward resigned; Julie Feier, <br />nd <br />the new City Manager has arrived; the Council approved a 5% refuse increase that will <br />appear on the September bill; Council approved allocation of block grant; Chicken <br />Ordinance is being revised; Council is planning a economic development sales tax; <br />reviewed the Mayor’s appointments to commissions; and he also, encouraged <br />participation in the fire department CERT program and police department Citizens <br />Academy. <br />Department Report <br />Nancy gave a presentation on the year so far for Centennial Commons and Heman <br />Park Pool; Centennial Commons surpassed membership goal; surpassed revenue goal; <br />with daily passes and revenue being less than originally projected; Heman Park Pool <br />sales are equal; attendance thru June 18, 2006 up 1079; She reported Centennial <br />Commons has had no real impact on the Pool. She also gave an overview on program <br />participation. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br />? Mr. Sykes reported Mooney looks good; the tour was great <br /> <br /> <br />? Mr. Seltzer reported Kaufman and Flynn tennis courts nets need to be adjusted <br /> <br /> <br />? Mr. Mosley reported Kingsland and Eastgate parks are in good shape. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
