INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> BILL NO. 7615 ORDINANCE NO. 5411 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY <br /> REPEALING SECTION 34-122.1 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 5277, ENACTED APRIL 13, 1981, RELATING TO <br /> HISTORIC DISTRICT ESTABLISHED, AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br /> THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-122.1. <br /> HISTORIC DISTRICT ESTABLISHED," SO AS TO ENLARGE THE , <br /> HISTORIC DISTRICT. <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City <br /> (University City Zoning Code) divides the City into several zoning districts, <br /> and regulates the uses to which the premises located therein may be put; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 34-122.1 thereof provides for the boundaries of the <br /> Special Historic District; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission, after a hearing, reviewed proposed <br /> revisions to said boundaries; and <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Council <br /> in the Council Chamber at City Hall, at 7:45 P.M. on the 10th day of October, <br /> 1983, was duly published. <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was duly held at the time and place <br /> specified in said notice, and all suggestions or objections concerning said <br /> revisions to said Section were duly heard and considered by the council; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are located within the City of University City buildings <br /> of historic significance and areas which represent historic values; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 89, Revised Statutes of Missouri, provides that the <br /> legislative body of a city is empowered for the purpose of promoting the <br /> health, safety, morals, or general welfare of the community to appropriate <br /> s <br /> funds, promulgate regulations and adopt standards for the preservation of <br /> features of historical significance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City is desirous of enlarging the <br /> Special Historic District. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br /> CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University <br /> City, relating to Zoning, is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-122.1 <br /> thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 5277, enacted April 12, 1981, relating <br /> to Historic District Established, and enacting in lieu thereof a new <br />
