Meeting called to Order, Roll Call at 6:02 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Opening Round a) Jenny stated that Nicola Salzman, the new Commercial Recycling Intern. She is a <br />Washington University student. <br />b) Bob planned to attend the St. Louis County Building Commission meeting on June 3rd but it was cancelled. <br />c) Lois attended a sustainability healthcare conference in Dallas and gave two presentations. d) Dianne announced that June 17 would be a Native Plant Garden Tour including <br />University City, Clayton and Ladue sponsored by the Audubon Society. e) Scott will be meeting colleagues in South Florida to view and research an A/C unit that <br />produces energy as it cools. This product is being developed by BePowertech.com <br />f) Jeff attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting in Lewis Park. 3. Approval of Minutes <br />a) May 12, 2016 Meeting Minutes were approved with one revision. <br />4. Special Presentations <br />a) None <br />5. New Business <br />a) Olive Lighting Study – Jenny would like to hire a consultant to study cost to purchase, install, operate and maintain street lights. Cobra lights on sections with distribution lines <br />will not work due to the proximity to the distribution lines. GPC supports the effort and is willing to help develop scope of work. <br />6. Old Business a) Review Recycling Ordinance – This will be tabled until the July commission meeting. <br />b) Date for Council Meeting and Study Session – The commission feels August would be a <br />good meeting for this but is not sure if a council liaison should be assigned first. Jenny will suggest the August date to City staff. Jeff and Tim should attend even if they have rotated off the commission. Each member will give a 3 minute presentation on their <br />subject and allow ample time for Q&A. c) Review Commission Mission, Vision, and Values – Each commission member is <br />assigned a category and will create one or more goals for it with supported action items: <br />Dianne – Ecosystems Tim – Energy <br />Bob – Waste <br />Lois – Water/Stormwater Jeff and Scott – Overarching goals <br /> <br />www.ucitymo.org
