<br />Meeting Minutes – University City Green Practices Committee <br />March 9, 2011 <br />Location:University City Hall, Second Floor Conference Room <br />Attendees: Lynnette Hicks, Donna Leach-Heimos, Neville Rapp, Lois Sechrist <br />Absent: Jerry Breakstone, Linda Fried, Tim Michels, Lynn Ricci <br />Visitors: Jeffrey Mishkin <br />1.Opening Round <br />a.Donna reported on the National Building Museum’s (Washington, D.C.) Intelligent Cities <br />http://www.nbm.org/intelligentcities/ <br />program and publications. <br />Lois reported on the EPA “Sustainable Design and Green Building Toolkit” webinar held <br />b. <br />on March 9 - http://www.epa.gov/region4/recycle/green-building-toolkit.pdf <br />c.Lois reported on the International Green Construction Code webinar March 2. University <br />City plans to implement the IGCC in 2012 – (Google “IGCC”). The IGCC is a <br />collaboration of the US Green Building Council (USGBC); the Illuminating Engineering <br />Society (IES); the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning <br />Engineers (ASHRAE); the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM); <br />American Institute of Architects (AIA); and International Construction Code (ICC). <br />d.Lynnette gave an update on the FOCUS St. Louis/ Sustainable St. Louis/ USGBC “Sustainable <br />Communities” workshop on February 15. The topic was “Sustainable Materials and Service <br />Procurement”. <br />i.Tim is to attend the March 15 program, “Sustainable Energy Practices” at Creve Coeur <br />City Hall. <br />ii.The final program will be April 19, “Sustainable Waste Management” at the Great Rivers <br />Research & Education Center at Lewis & Clark Community College. TBD whom will <br />attend. <br />2.Administrative items: <br />a.The December 2010 and January 2011 minutes were approved. <br />nd <br />b.Next meeting date: April 13, 6:00 pm – 7:30 p.m., University City Hall, 2 Floor Conference <br />Room. <br />3.Green Practices Commission bylaws: <br />a.The document will be discussed at the April committee meeting. <br />4.Agenda items tabled to the April meeting: <br />Specifications for the Energy Audits for City Buildings <br />a.#4 - <br />#5 - Green House Gas Inventory – Draft Report (Joe Heneberry) <br />b. <br />#6 - Potential New Member appointment (Phyllis Blalock). Donna will follow up to see if <br />c. <br />Phyllis has submitted her application. <br />
