BILL NO. <br /> <br />8226 <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />6010 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY TO <br />ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH ST. LOUIS <br />COUNTY, MISSOURI, FOR MOSQUITO CONTROL SERVICES AND <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY <br />OF UNIVERSITY CITY TO ENTER INTO ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A <br />CONTRACT WITH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI, FOR MOSQUITO <br />CONTROL SERVICES, CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Manager of University City is hereby authorized and directed <br />to enter into and execute a contract with St. Louis County, Missouri, whereby said <br />county, by and through its Department of Community Health and Medical Care, will <br />perform mosquito control services within University City. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City shall compensate St. Louis County, Missouri, for hand spraying <br />(larviciding) and/or power spraying (fogging), at the hourly rate set forth in the contract <br />as such rate is charged in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract <br />between the City and St. Louis County, Missouri. <br /> <br /> Section 3. This agreement shall be in effect for five (5) years after execution <br />hereof; provided that either party may terminate at the end of any calendar year by <br />written notice at least thirty (30) days prior thereto. <br /> <br /> Section 4. An emergency is hereby declared to exist in that the mosquito control <br />services are needed immediately.
