Session 1801 <br />January 22, 2001 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: SUPPORT OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TAX LEVY: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read the resolution. <br /> <br />Jim Schmalz, 6922 Kingsbury, stated that he and Hazel Erby were the co-chairs for the <br />committee set up to campaign for this measure which will be on the April 3rd ballots. It <br />has been ten years since the last tax increase for operating revenue. He explained that <br />the school district needs the tax levy to continue to offer quality services to each <br />student and to remain competitive with other neighboring school districts. The school <br />district already has to dip into it's reserves this fiscal year. He strongly urges the Council <br />to support this measure. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1-CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />#1 -Fumish and Instaft Seven Snow Plows: Bids were received for purchasing and <br />installing seven snow plows for Street's pickup vehicles. $28,000.00 was budgeted for <br />this equipment. Mr. Ollendorff recommends <br />approval of a one day license to sell beer and wine at Our Lady of Lourdes gym on <br />March 31. Habitat for Humanity will conduct this sale as a fundraiser.
