Session 1801 <br />January 22, 2001 <br /> <br />#3 - Sixteen Police Vehicles: Sixteen Police Vehicles: Bids for purchasing sixteen new <br />mid-size Chevrolet Impalas for the Police Department have been received. Invitations <br />to Bid were sent to ten dealers with the following responses: <br /> <br /> Company <br /> <br />Auffenberg Chevrolet <br />Don Brown Chevrolet <br /> <br />Cost Trade-In Total <br /> (15 Vehicles) <br />$307,008.00 $66,000.00 $241,008.00 <br />$350,896.00 $67,700.00 $283,196.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends purchasing these vehicles from Auffenberg Chevrolet for <br />their low bid of $241,008.00. <br /> <br />#4 - Quarterly BudCzet Transfers: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of transfers to <br />cover unexpected expenditures in the amount of $218,554 during the first six months of <br />the fiscal year. We expect increases in revenue from utility taxes, federal grants and <br />prior year income more than adequate to offset these cost increases which amount to <br />less than one percent of the annual budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Sharpe seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - REZONING PUBLIC HEARING - 7023 FORSYTH: <br /> <br />A public hearing has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this date and place to hear and <br />consider comments on the proposed rezoning of the residential property at this address <br />to PA-Public Activity. The rezoning has been reviewed and considered by the Plan <br />Commission and City staff. They report that the proposal is in order and may be <br />approved subject to Council consideration of comments at this public hearing. The next <br />step following the public hearing would be for City Council to request preparation of a <br />rezoning bill. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Rev. John Lottes, 7019 Forsyth - Lutheran Campus Ministry wished to state his support <br />of the Episcopal Diocese's plans to rezone this property and utilize it for Episcopalian <br />students. They appreciate and support their efforts on campus and their programming. <br /> <br />Bates Childress, 7024 Forsyth Unit #2E, is concerned what the precedence that this will <br />set for the neighborhood and the potential for more houses on the east end of Forsyth <br />being converted from private residences to meeting spaces and offices for student <br /> <br /> <br />
