Session 1812 May 21, 2001 The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8527. Mr. Wagner commented that this bill results from the extensive study from the subcommittee of the City Council, studying the past and present realities of the truck prohibition of truck parking on our streets. Mr. Schoomer would like to request that a public hearing be held on this issue prior to the second and third reading of this bill scheduled for the next meeting on June 4, 2001. A bill was introduced by Mr. Wagner, entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING GENERALLY, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.40.210 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING TRUCKS AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION "10.40.210 - PARKING TRUCKS AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES PROHIBITED - EXCEPTIONS;" SO AS TO PERMIT THE PARKING OF TRUCKS UP TO 6,000 LBS. GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS AND ALLEYS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8528. 4. A bill was introduced by Mr. Schoomer, entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.84 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANIES, BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION 5.84.015, TELEPHONE SERVICE DEFINED," CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE. A bill was introduced by Mr. Wagner, entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.84 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANIES, BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 5.84.060, PENALTY FOR NONPAYMENT OF TAX;" CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
