SESSION 1508 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Dece~ 11, 1989 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the city Council of University City held in the Assem- <br />bly B~x~m of City Hall on Monday, December 11, 1989, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- <br />sided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the following members of the Council wore present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Price <br />Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mr. ~mbert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Ma~] V. Schuman <br />Mr. Paul E. schoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. Th~son <br /> <br />Also present was city Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />November 6. 1989 <br /> <br />Mr. Adams I0oved approval of the November 6, 1989 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />schocmer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />November 20, 1989 <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved that ~he November 20, 1989 minutes be approved as received. <br />Mr. ~ams seconded the motion, which carried unanimmusly. <br /> <br />Mrs. 5ho~L~son moved the appointment of the Rev. Clarence Carr, 8015 Stanford, <br />to the Traffic Cu~L,~.~ssion for a term expiring January 21, 1992. Mr. Price <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman moved the reappointment of Mrs. Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel, to <br />the Historic Preservation Cu~tm~ssion for a term expiring September 9, 1992. <br />Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus asked Ms. Mary Ann Shaw, Ms. Susan Hopper, and Ms. Jane Schaefer <br />of the University city Beautification Cu~u,Jttee to come forward. Ms. Hopper <br />said the C~u~.~ttee wished to recognize three businesses for beth improving the <br />beauty of the c~,~u~,unity and for taking particular care in the landscaping and <br />maintenance of their properties. She noted that a number of businesses in the <br />c~,~,unity have been leaders in this area, and it was hoped they would be an <br />inspiration to others. The three businesses were the Science Printers and <br />Publishers, 8342 Olive; Mohme Sunoco Service Station, 8130 Delmar; and the <br />Shell Station at Olive and Hanley. There was a round of applause. Mayor Ma- <br />jerus said the Council added its t_hanks to those of the Committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
