The <br />Chevrolet Caprice V-8 bid by Johnny Londoff Chevrolet also does not meet bid <br />specifications but is c~L~atible with ~e fleet. Therefore, it was recu~,,L~nd- <br />ed that the bid of $13,949 frc~ Johnny i5ondoff Chevrolet be accepted. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved acceptance of t~le Consent Calendar. Mr. Adams seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />In conjunction with Consent Calendar It~ #3, Mayor Majerus said a cox~,,unica- <br />tion f£~t~ City Forester Norma Bonham as'~ed the Council to remind citizens who <br />wish to have a tree planted in their t~.~e lawn that this was the time to call <br />the City Forester so their name could b_= placed on the list for a new tree. <br /> <br />I~JBLIC HEARING - ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> <br />The city Manager said a public hearing was set for 7:30 p.m. to hear and con- <br />sider c~,u~ ~nts on a proposed amendment to the Zoning Code that more accurately <br />defir~s retail/cu,~rcial uses in the R~-tail/Co~,m~rcial Zoning District. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus opened the public heari~] at 7:54 p.m. There were no requests <br />to speak, and the Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:54 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoc~er noted that the Special B~nefit Tax District Cu~,~.~ssion voted to <br />approve this measure, and he asked that legislation be prepared to enact the <br /> <br />*Councilmember Price arrived at this th~. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - ZON/A~ CODE/F~CES <br /> <br />The City Manager said a public hearing was set for 7:30 p.m. to hear and con- <br />sider c~t~t~nts regarding a proposed Zoning Code amendment that would require <br />new fences to have all posts and r~ils facing the property interior. Approv- <br />al was recc~.'.t'~nded by the Plan C~t=t~ssion on a 4-2 vote. Mr. Ollendorff said <br />he believed that definition and enforcement problems might result from adopt- <br />lng this type of restriction. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus opened thepublichearingat 7:56. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Engelhar~t, 7830 Lafon, spoke ~ favor of the proposed amendment, not- <br />ingthat fences withthe structural cc~nents facing publicareas and streets <br />are making some neighborhoods look scm~nattacky. He suggested that enforce- <br />ment ofthis amendment could bydoneby City inspectors with little difficulty. <br /> <br /> <br />
