SESSIC~ 1503 <br /> <br />MISrUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY cl'l~ C~//NCIL <br /> <br /> Se~cember 18, 1989 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the city Council of University City held in the Assem- <br />bly P~x~n of City Hall on Monday, September 18, 1989, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- <br />sided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. By~m R. Price* <br />Mr. Joseph L. ;u~ams, Jr. <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Mary V. Sch~man <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoc~_r <br />Mrs. Betty L. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />*Mr. Price arrived at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />August 14. 1989 <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved al~proval of the August 14, 1989 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Wagner seoonded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Auqust 22. 1989 <br /> <br />Mr. ~ moved auproval of the minutes of the special meeting of August 22, <br />1989. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />l~l'l'±ON OF c,TY f~TOYEES <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus read a Certificate of Valor citation honoring Paramedic Fire- <br />fighter Robert Watkins, who recently braved a severe house fire to rescue a <br />young child overcome by smoke. She present~ the certificate to Mr. Watkins, <br />who received an extended round of auplause. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus noted that Steven Schmitt,' another Fire Depazh,~nt employee, was <br />reoently p~oted to Captain. She administered the Oath of Office to Mr. <br />Schmitt, who was acc~,~anled by his wife. There was a round of applause. <br /> <br />Mayor .Majerus pre~ented Mr. Willie Norfleet, University city Finance Director, <br />with a citation and plaque f~c~¥~ the Government Finance Officers Association <br />which recognized Mr. Norfleet and the City for excellence in financial report- <br />lng. She also asked his assistant, accountant T~rry Evans to stand and be <br />recognized. There was another round of applause. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved the appointment of Mr. Robert Melville, 7191 Washington, to <br /> <br /> <br />
