Mr. <br />Adams seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. ~cm~son the~ moved that Council confirm the election of Mr. Tarry Evans, <br />1945 Westbcx/rne Way, to the Board of Trustees of the Non-Uniformed Employees <br />Retirement Fund for a term expiring July 1, 1993. Mr. Schoomer seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert p. Parks, recently appointed to the Park C~Lu,Jssion, and Mr. Iaw- <br />fence Wey~t, recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Uniformed Em- <br />ployees Reti;~t Fund, were given the oath of office by the city Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked the new members, noting that Council depended on the <br />City's boards and c~,uL.~ssions for counsel and assistance. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said additional petitions in which citizens have voiced opposi- <br />tion to o£~=nizations soliciting donations after dark have been presented to <br />Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Arnold Pryor, 7445 Kingsbury, representing Alta Dena Subdivision, said he <br />collected 72 signatures of people in his neighbo~t~ood who were opposed to the <br />solicitation of money after dark, and he asked the city not to change its or- <br />dinance that prohibits such solicitation. <br /> <br />Mr. Charles Ochs, 1099 Oolby, said he and most senior citizens in University <br />City support the City's prohibition of solicitation for money after dark. He <br />said he had never seen an issue on which so many citizens agree. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus announced that the University City Public Library was celebrat- <br />Lng its 50th anniversary and would hold a gala "mystery" party on Saturday, <br />Se~ 23, 1989. She urged those present to attend what promises to be a <br />very enjoy-uble occasion. <br /> <br />ODNS~T CATRNDAR (NINE <br /> <br />Consideration of Bids for Greens Mower for Golf Course (#1).
